By now, we
should all know the benefits of having a presence on YouTube.
These
include:
1 People
prefer to watch a video these days, rather than read a lot of text.
When people
want to learn about a new product or service, as many as 98% said they
preferred to watch a video.
2 Video can
increase your sales
It is
estimated that adding a product video to your landing page can increase your
conversions by 80%.
3 Videos are
more appealing to mobile users
We have all
seen the growth of mobile usage over the last few years and it is forecast that
this growth will continue.
More than
half of video viewing is now done on mobile phones.
It is also
forecast that watching videos on mobiles will overtake traditional TV viewing.
Quite simply,
people find it easy to watch a video while on the go, than scrolling through
trying to read lots of text.
4 YouTube is
the second largest search engine in the world, so it is well worth having a
presence.
Now that we
have covered the benefits, let’s discuss what a YouTube channel is.
You may have
lots of interests with videos on subjects such as golf, photography, dog
breeding, etc.
If a golfer
is looking on your YouTube account, he/she may not wish to look through your
videos on photography and dog breeding.
To overcome
this, we would have separate channels for each of our interests.
If you are
looking for viewers, it is estimated that YouTube visitors are watching around
6 billion hours of video every month.
You only need
a small part of that to have a viable business.
In order to
customize your YouTube channel, you need the following :
1 Channel
icon- this should either be a photo of yourself or your brand.
2 Channel
art-personally, I use a site called www.canva.com, which is free and enables you to design
your own channel art.
I have made a
separate video to show how this is done.
There is a
link below.
3 Channel
description-this tells your viewers all about your channel.
That is
basically how you set up your YouTube channel.
For further
details, please refer to the video below.
In addition,
I will be adding further videos on YouTube marketing.
